Professional Background
The founder of DFS, Ernest Estrada, is a decorated Marine Combat Veteran who proudly served his country as an Infantryman (Grunt) with 1st. Platoon, Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines. With over 22 years of experience in law enforcement at the State, County, and Federal level, he currently serves as a federal law enforcement officer.
Throughout his career, Ernest has gained extensive shooting experience with the rifle, shotgun, and pistol. As a seasoned law enforcement officer, he has worked in highly volatile and dangerous areas and has encountered life-threatening situations. This experience has reinforced his belief in the importance of Combat Shooting and Close Quarters Combat training.
Ernest holds several professional certifications, including CA POST Defensive Tactics Instructor, CA POST Baton Instructor, CA POST Field Training Officer, and CA POST Supervisory Course. Additionally, he is a FLETA Certified Defensive Tactics Instructor and an Israeli Combat Shooting Instructor. Ernest's exceptional skills have been recognized by the US Marine Corps, as he has been qualified as a Rifle Expert three times.

Martial Arts Background
Ernest Estrada is currently a 4th degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and is certified by the Jiu-Jitsu Federation of Rio de Janeiro and the Jiu-Jitsu Global Federation. He also has trained in other martial arts such as Kickboxing, Boxing, Kali, Balintawak Escrima, Pekiti- Tirsia Kali, Boxing and Libre Knife Fighting. He also has done extensive research in European Fencing and HEMA which made him realize that Asians aren't the only ones that have a deep understanding of the blade arts.
